About the event
Airing Out the “Dirty” Laundry is an ongoing community art movement that responds to the silencing of women*, by creating space to share experiences through visual storytelling. This installation is the collective voices of nearly 400 “Laundry Day” participants that have chosen to share their visual narratives.
While we eagerly await the museum reopening, we wanted to create a virtual tour opportunity to engage a public audience from within Charlotte, across the country, and beyond.
Please join us on Facebook LIVE from the 5th Floor of The Mint Museum Uptown on Saturday August 22nd from noon-1pm. The event will be streamed from the Airing Out the "Dirty" Laundry FB page. Tune in, share the invitation with your friends and family, or host a watch party.
You are also invited to participate in the Virtual Laundry Day event in partnership with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library from 11am-noon on the same day and then switch over to FB LIVE to see more of the installation at noon. RSVP for the Virtual Laundry Day before the tour here: https://www.aotdl.org/events-1
Looking so forward to sharing this space and the ever-growing collection of women's stories with all of you!
*Airing Out the “Dirty” Laundry holds space for all women across the intersections of race, age, color, disability, faith, religion, ancestry, national origin, citizenship, social class, economic class, ethnicity, gender identity and gender expression.
